I might make just one comment regarding the scenario of exporting gas to Russia...

With the ability to sell some of the natural gas we produce, we can see even more economic benefit.

What happens to the 90 percent that don't?

To say that there are 5,000 soldiers who will file complaints for sexual assault or rape a year and only 500 of them go to court-martial, that means that only 10 percent of those that file complaints actually go to court-martial.

And for a sexual predator to gain the rank that he has gained, go through a court-martial process, and be given a slap on the wrist suggests to everyone who has been watching this case that it does not work.

Clearly, as I stated in my remarks on the overall piece of legislation, that there's legal means to do this internationally and through existing constitutions.

With all due respect, I think the statute of limitations on Josef Stalin has already passed.

What was done and what Russia did was illegal.

Just as we condemn Russia's illegal activities in Ukraine, we must also condemn Russia's aggression, threats, and political and economic pressure on Georgia and Moldova.

So, let's be clear that this general pled guilty to any number of egregious conduct. That a lower-ranking individual would have been kicked out of the military.

Another issue that is kind of cross cutting, I guess, but a key challenge for energy systems of the future is the potential for development of hybrid systems.

The United States has world-class innovation capacity, a unique culture of entrepreneurship, well-developed capital markets, and the finest scientists, engineers, and workers in the world.

I don't see our budget getting any better for the next while, frankly.

This significant underinvestment in energy research and development by the private sector...makes government support for applied energy R&D critical for our future competitiveness and economic prosperity.
