Andy Harris is an American politician and physician serving as the U.S. Representative for Maryland's 1st congressional district since 2011. A member of the Republican Party, he has focused on issues such as healthcare and fiscal policy during his tenure in Congress. Harris has been an outspoken critic of the Affordable Care Act, often advocating for its repeal and replacement with alternative healthcare solutions. He has also been involved in discussions surrounding budgetary matters and government spending.
[Democrats] could have written it to last forever. They didn’t. They wrote it to expire this year. So we should just let it expire.
It’ll cost hundreds of billions of dollars. Can’t afford it. That was a Covid-era policy. Newsflash to America: Covid is over.
God’s hand was on that field. President Trump’s life was spared and the MAGA movement was preserved for such a time as this.
There’s a little work left to be done, but if the president calls the Senate back in town, we should be able to do it.
If the Senate tries to jam the House with this version, I won’t vote ‘present.’ I’ll vote NO.
The House Freedom Caucus strongly supports these critical rescissions, and we will support as many more rescissions packages the White House can send us in the coming weeks and months.
There is still a lot of work to be done in deficit reduction and ending waste, fraud, and abuse in the Medicaid program.
