Mary Sattler Peltola is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Alaska's at-large congressional district since August 31, 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, she made history as the first Alaska Native woman elected to Congress. Peltola has focused on issues such as subsistence rights, climate change, and economic development in her home state of Alaska. Her election followed a special election to fill the vacancy left by the passing of longtime Congressman Don Young, and she has since been an advocate for bipartisan cooperation in Congress.
