Scott Peters

Scott Peters is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing California's 52nd congressional district since January 3, 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Peters has focused on issues such as healthcare, environmental protection, and economic development during his time in Congress. He has been an advocate for policies aimed at addressing climate change and improving access to affordable healthcare for his constituents. Peters previously served on the San Diego City Council, where he gained experience in local governance and community issues.
The campaign has been very, I think, arrogant in their response. We want to know what their plan is to win this election and turn these numbers around.
I did support legislation like the bipartisan Lower Costs, More Transparency Act, which passed the House late last year.
We are still talking not about a health care system but a sick response system.
I co-lead a bill with Congressmember Miller-Meeks that would ensure PBMs pass their discounts along to patients with chronic conditions.
There are folks in this building who'd rather campaign on the chaos than do anything to stop it.
We need to make improvements, and right now, we have community-based organizations that are trying to pick up the slack.
Back home in San Diego generally we know that the border is an opportunity, not a threat.
