Jen Kiggans is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Virginia's 2nd congressional district since January 3, 2023. A member of the Republican Party, Kiggans has a background in healthcare and public service, which informs her legislative priorities. She has been vocal about issues affecting servicemembers and has advocated for tax credits that support families in her district. Kiggans has also emphasized the importance of bipartisan support in addressing the needs of her constituents.
Allowing these tax credits to lapse without a clear path forward would risk real harm to those we represent.
I’m urging the Speaker and our House leadership to immediately pass my bill to ensure our servicemembers, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck while supporting their families, receive the pay they’ve earned.
In six weeks or so, people will get a notice that their health care premiums are going to go up by thousands of dollars.
It’s time to end these tax credits, but when it comes to health care, it’s not quite as easy as letting them expire, especially when it’s something at the end of the calendar year.
