I’m going to hold myself to that standard, to do better and to acknowledge that I fell short.

I absolutely understand that I could have been better in those moments.

I’m going to be focused on earning their votes and earning their trust.

I’m taking responsibility for this situation, and I’m also not going to back down from fighting back for California, from being tough.

I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation … And if every question, you’re going to make up a follow-up question, then we’re never going to get there.

I don’t want this all on camera.

I am certain that we in California have an argument why we need to do this because everywhere I go, people are saying we have to stop Trump.

He has said he is picking on us. He has said he is out to get the state.

I am. Californians really feel frustrated. They feel picked on.

As governor, I won’t ever back down when Trump’s hurting Californians.

What California needs now is a little bit of hope and a whole lot of grit, fresh blood and new ideas, leaders with the backbone to fight for what’s right.
