When former Speaker Kevin McCarthy tapped me to lead House Republican’s investigation into the security failures at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and Pelosi’s Select Committee, I told him I would accept the challenge under these two conditions: I would have the autonomy and resources needed to effectively pursue the facts without political bias or outside influence, and I would have the authority to report whatever we find to the American people. I still believe this is what is needed to effectively pursue the truth.
Through studies over years and years, when there is fraud--and there is fraud in every election.
Look, whether we like it or not, election integrity is a huge issue, bipartisan issue, in this country.
Whether it is perception or reality, people have to have confidence in their elections.
My understanding has always been that when an act of Government can deprive citizens of property or liberty, it is not a rule or regulation, it is a law, and only Congress can enact those laws.
The question is, is the Library still focused on its preeminent mission to serve Congress and to prioritize Congress among its customers?
The reason I am bringing this up is, a whistleblower had alleged many of the findings that were highlighted in this report.
You mentioned in your testimony that the modernization of the Copyright Office's information technology continues to be a top priority.
