We grow the highest quality beef here in Iowa, and so absolutely, I’ll be advocating to the administration because I think we need to be focusing on growing the herd the right way and protecting our cattlemen.

We know this is a policy that is an over-regulatory policy, Californians trying to tell Iowans what they know how to do already best, which is raise animals responsibly.

Some Democrats in Washington see this as their greatest opportunity this year to take back not only the Senate seat and our congressional seats, but the governor’s mansion as well.

Let me be very clear here. Chuck Schumer is on the ballot this year, and he goes by the name of Josh Turek.

“Anyone who supports a mandate like Prop 12 isn’t someone who can genuinely represent the people of Iowa, especially not our farmers and our producers and Iowa agriculture,” Hinson said.

“One of the most insulting parts of the campaign, in my mind, is the suggestion that our farmers only care about the bottom line, that they don’t care about the welfare of the animals that they are raising,” Hinson said.

This legislation will stop out-of-touch activists — who don’t know the first thing about farming — from dictating how Iowa farmers do their job.

Hinson remarked, "I do hope we can get this done by the next couple of weeks. If it drags on beyond that, it's a political liability for us too."

Hinson noted, "I've been to four funerals since December. It's awful."
