My request for access to Delaney Hall was formally denied this morning, raising serious questions about what they are trying to hide from public view.
I have long opposed private detention facilities and will continue to advocate for the closure of Delaney Hall and against any expansion of mass detention facilities in New Jersey, like the proposed facility in Roxbury.
I will continue to call for the closure of Delaney Hall because of reports like these.
I intend to submit my resignation next week and turn to protecting all of New Jersey.
I promised I would take on the status quo. I would fight the big fights, because that's what people expect of their leaders.
You have trusted me, New Jersey, and last week, you placed your trust in me again, electing me your 57th governor.
To the country, I say, stand strong. As we say in the Navy, don't give up the ship.
Do not let this body become a ceremonial red stamp from an administration that rips health care away from people and takes food away from children.
That- as I was talking to people across the state, thousands of people, they wanted to see an agenda to get their costs down, and something that was going to take place quickly.
