But tell us the fix. Everybody is telling us the problems. We know what the end result of the problems. What do you recommend we fix?

Estimates have found that robocalls make up nearly 35 percent of calls that consumers receive today.

Well, it is excessive.

This barrage of unwanted calls using auto-dialers and prerecorded messages, they are disruptive to say the least and they really are intrusive.

I hope the momentum from our accomplishment yesterday can carry on through our efforts today to work towards the shared goal of protecting consumers from illegal phone calls.

I want to thank my colleagues on the Democratic side for requesting this hearing and for all of our members for the commitment to a productive conversation about modernizing an outdated law.
