We have to pass the bill to find out what is in it.

Let's not let all of this fade away, let's make some historic changes that we can all be proud to be a part of.

If after today's hearing, nothing major gets changed, then I think people will lose faith in our Government.

These people should be the most important priority to all of us because they are the real life heroes of this country!

A nation will not survive morally or economically when so few have so much and so many have so little.

I am encouraged by the FDA's increased attention to the growing epidemic of prescription opioid misuse and abuse and the need to improve treatment options for chronic pain.

It would track the negative urine test, but it would not necessarily--I did not get the answer on early refills.

the problem of over-prescribing of opioids at the VA has led to tragic and real consequences for veterans, their families, and entire communities across our Nation.

Among the allegations that are being looked into at the Tomah VA are early refills of prescriptions for opioids.

So, can this system alert the providers in real time to stop the prescriptions?

Would the tracking system capture that?

Who at the VA is tracking this data and who has use of it today?

I want to give the Chairman and Ranking Member a big shout out and thank you for all of your work on the Clay Hunt SAV Act.

Maybe on an incidental basis, but if it was happening over a long period of time, that prescriptions were being sent to a home when somebody was a long-term inpatient, that would be----

I would like to see VA more rapidly expand the use of these techniques.

We have to set our eyes on the goal of full recovery, not just addiction maintenance.

We want to know what to do here because this deadly epidemic is something that we have to address.
