Lamborn, Hon. Doug, a Representative in Congress from the State of Colorado.

At a time when world demand for energy is increasing, businesses that provide us with the oil and electricity that we use every day will continue to seek out new places around the world to develop these resources.

It was written into law because Frank Wolf, who is a Member of Congress, who also went through that same investigation and Dana Rohrabacher and others who have been watching this issue for a long time are aware of the specifics.

Now, providing the world's worst human rights abuser which is now building up its military and making, and being demonstrably hostile to the United States in the South China Sea and elsewhere and making alliances with every other vicious…

I don't think that the people that I know would agree with you, either one of you, in terms of the benefits outweigh the risks.

Let me just suggest that you have not read the task force, the congressional task force on technology transfer to China that was done and voted on and unanimously voted in a bipartisan fashion that totally contradict your last statement.

If this was a Republican administration, believe me, there would be... an uproar beyond imagination having an administration saying that really, Congress doesn't have the right to say where appropriated funds will be spent.

I don't want you, the CFPB, to be approving every fee that a bank charges.

I would like is for consumers to have the benefit of normal, healthy competition.

The accountability is one of the biggest issues we have. It is one of the reasons I ran for Congress because I felt that no one is held accountable.

We don't want to see that slip and we don't want to lose the skill sets of our workers that are necessary to that.

I have argued that revenue needs to be part of the equation.

I agree very strongly with the industrial base argument that you just made.

I do also feel the same arguments, however, apply to infrastructure, apply to transportation and energy.

Put everything on the table, including revenue and mandatory programs.

Do you understand at least the frame of mind, that they feel they are being punished for something they had nothing to do with?

It informs human rights abusers in China that the United States does not stand by as atrocities are committed.
