And would you acknowledge that that has an economic impact, certainly to the commercial fishermen out there who have a smaller and smaller window if you will of fishing opportunities?

I am sympathetic to both concerns.

How do you set that priority in terms of fisheries? Who gets the attention first?

This is not acceptable.

Commercial and recreational fisheries supporting 1.9 million jobs, and generating $163 billion in sales impact in 2008.

I implore my colleagues to recognize the value of research and resist efforts to defund and destroy the very scientific community that will give us answers.

I think we can finally say that global warming is happening.

Climate change is a cancer, and we don't cure cancer by refusing to test for it, calling the doctor a liar, and refusing to consider any treatment.

Such decisions made without adequate scientific information are unacceptable.

I thought that the priorities, the way that you went about it, was the way that we need to go about making these tough decisions.

The Army Corps of Engineers is an important partner for us in developing and managing the water infrastructure of America.

It is quite clear that in this budget climate, we are not going to have the resources to be able to do all that we need to do.

It restored an ecosystem that is now the pride of the community.

As you know, we are going through some different views as to how Congress will authorize projects in the future.

the challenge is that if we are all in agreement that this project needs to move forward, in the appropriate priority order...

I do think that Senator Corker expresses a view of many of us in the Senate and that is whether the mission is clear enough.

I would encourage you to consult closely with us as these issues unfold.

These issues need to be gotten on immediately rather than sitting there for months or years causing significant problems in stability in the region.
