What you saw happen in Texas was much more how FEMA will look in the future. It won’t look like the response to [Hurricane] Katrina, or the response to even [Hurricane] Helene, and what happened in North Carolina, where people waited weeks…

American taxpayers deserve answers and accountability. President Trump is right: Jay Powell has been very bad for our country, and it’s time for him to go.

Powell has been a total disaster at the Federal Reserve, accruing over a trillion dollars in losses and mismanaging the central bank at the expense of American families.

If the goal were to lose trillions of dollars and get mired in scandals, Jay Powell would be the gold standard—but that’s not the goal.

In order for me to support this legislation, we had to find a way to continue support for these radio stations which offer potentially life saving information in some of the most rural parts of our nation.

Make no mistake, what Trump and his congressional enablers have just done is a direct attack on rural America and on Southerners like us. It is a betrayal.

We can sit on the sidelines and talk about the way the world should be, or we could recognize the existential nature that is this moment

They’re playing by a different set of rules

I want to get the approps process going.

I am grateful that the legislature recognized the need for a new standalone agency dedicated to addressing these vexing issues that continue to face our state and nation, so that these issues will never fall into the shadows again.

It will keep them in operation. It will be for one year at a time.

That’s why our one time $3 billion inflation rebate is now a $2 billion inflation rebate, cutting a program that I believe in, but also trying to be cognizant of the fact that we may need that money for future challenges.

I know we had some instinct that this would happen, something would happen.
