I spoke to President Trump this afternoon and thanked him for acting quickly to approve this request and deliver help to the people of West Virginia.

It does take time to muck out the homes. It takes time to rebuild the bridges and the roads and do the things that are necessary for long-term recovery.

I can’t emphasize enough how important it is for people to work and collaborate with us because our submission to FEMA is only as good as what comes in our way from individual citizens and communities.

We have to do this the right way.

Every hour as we learn more about what the communities need. We’re going to adjust our response and we’re going to stand by these communities.

We don't have an exact number but we are concerned about fatalities.
