When I talk to young people thinking about political careers, I always tell them the same thing: get out, get real experience, and take your time, learn stuff.

We would not have been a country, we would not have had a constitution, if there wasn’t some understanding that if you were landlocked, if that is you didn’t have access to the coast, that you couldn’t get your products out of.

What these policies have done to Wyoming is pretty demonstrable.

Revenue from fossil fuels in Wyoming funds our schools, healthcare, public safety, and other essential services.

Wyoming does not need, nor do we welcome, an additional layer of Federal regulation to regulate methane emissions.

Policies like the ban on Federal oil and gas leasing are disproportionately harmful to Western states due to the amount of land and minerals held by the Federal Government and really for no effective reason.

If the goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, targeting the production of Federal fossil fuels only shifts production to other countries, many of whom have far less stringent emission controls than the U.S.

this leasing ban is detrimental to all of our states.

It is dramatic. In my testimony I mentioned a couple of those numbers--$5.7 million of that from lease sales alone, lease bonuses et cetera, and that's significant in our state.

there is a lot of governor support for not continuing this leasing ban.

I recently announced that Wyoming will work day and night to achieve negative net-zero carbon emissions across the whole spectrum of energy using wind, solar, nuclear, hydrogen, and fossil fuels.

Thank you for remembering that burning fossil fuels is not the problem. It is concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere that is the most urgent and critical task of this generation.
