This is really a chance to honor the hundreds and hundreds of workers who are working so hard every single day to build this really critical structure.

It’s an interesting choice to come protest an event where we’re honoring workers.

This is a thing we can do that essentially costs no money that can really improve student learning and achievement all across our state.

Change is hard and getting any bill through the Legislature is hard.

We find it hard to believe that we ever allowed smoking on airplanes, right?

Thank you again for your help with the devastating fires in our state and your personal engagement on this disaster.

It’s a totally different request than the already-approved emergency declaration and would unlock significant financial assistance for individuals and for municipalities.

I have requested federal assistance after speaking to US President Donald Trump.

I deeply appreciate the President taking time to have this conversation, and I am optimistic we will receive a quick approval for our request for a federal emergency declaration.

Things are extremely dynamic, especially in Spokane.

I spoke to the president about what’s going on, and spoke in pretty clear fashion about how dire the situation is.

Just in a matter of hours, their lives changed in deeply dramatic and fundamental ways. And so it's difficult to find words when folks have experienced a loss like that.
