Political violence unfortunately has been ratcheting up in this country.

More than 7,000 tips have been provided to the FBI in the manhunt for Charlie Kirk’s killer. The agency has not seen a number that large since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

We pray that God will bless our nation at this very dark time, we can start healing by finding this perpetrator and holding him accountable. And we need your help to do that.

Now, this is obviously a premeditated assassination to try to snuff out an opposing viewpoint.

We cannot do our job without the public’s help

No, but I think it flows from this intolerance to opposing ideas.

Casey and I are praying for Charlie Kirk and his family.

We will bring to justice the individual responsible for this tragedy.

Charlie’s voice was a beacon for millions of young Americans searching for truth, courage, and conviction.

This is the kind of thing that happens in authoritarian regimes.

Violence and vitriol must be purged from the public square. Members of other political parties are not our enemies; they are our fellow citizens.

There are people who are fomenting it [political violence] in this country. I think the president’s rhetoric often foments it.

Overturning the rule protects our American way of life and gives our communities a voice in the land that they depend on.

I ask every American to join me in praying for him, his family, and every student gathered there.

The attack was disgusting, vile, and reprehensible. In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form.
