I cannot believe the disrespect that was shown to a United States senator, who was thrown down, handcuffed and not allowed to ask a question of our secretary of homeland security.

So you’re admitting that this is just a political circus.

We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate this city from the socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and mayor have placed on this country.

Authoritarian regimes begin by targeting people who are least able to defend themselves. But they do not stop there.

This is about all of us. This is about you. California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault before our eyes. This moment we have feared has arrived.

Trump and his loyalists, they thrive on division because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control. And by the way, Trump, he’s not opposed to lawlessness and violence, as long as it serves him.

The rule of law has increasingly been given way to the rule of Don.

So when I leave here I’ll have a conversation with him and visit and find out really what his concerns were.

FEMA fundamentally needs to go away as it exists.

We all know from the past that FEMA has failed thousand if not millions of people, and President Trump does not want to see that continue into the future.

Our intent is to make the tax cuts permanent.

When the president of the United States is calling up your National Guard over the top of local law enforcement, saying that they don’t need it, that they have things under control, it tends to have an inflaming effect on what’s going on…

You’re putting a federal problem on our laps. And know what? It gets old after a while.

This is an overreach of epic proportions.

Absolutely undermine the sovereignty of individual states.

Anyone engaging in acts of violence or damaging property will be arrested and held accountable to the full extent of the law.
