I am signing a disaster declaration to ensure counties have access to every tool, strategy, and personnel that the State of Texas can provide to them, which will be limitless.

We will continue to add counties as needed, as conditions either worsen or improve in counties across the state of Texas.

When Texas faces a challenge, we come together, we unite.

We will not stop today or tomorrow, we will stop when it’s finish.

We will stop at nothing to ensure that every asset and person and plan, whatever is needed, is going to be involved in the process of rescuing every last person.

Everybody knows that the weather is extremely difficult to predict.

I’ve visited with the president already about this federal disaster declaration that the governor was going to sign here this morning, and he has indicated that he will honor that.

We will be relentless in the ongoing search for missing people. We’re not going to stop today or tomorrow.

My instruction to every state agency involved in this is to assume everybody who is missing is alive.

This is contrary to the United States and Kentucky Constitutions, which recognize three equal branches of government.

I do carry your concerns back to the federal government, and to President Trump, and we will do all we can to fix those kind of things that that may have felt like a failure to you and to your community members.

I like to say we were doing DOGE before DOGE was a thing.

I’ve been DOGE-ing in Oklahoma since before it was cool.

I’m heartbroken. This was a heinous direct assault on our brave firefighters.
