Mr. Speaker, I am today introducing a bill to designate Rocky Flats as a National Wildlife Refuge once that former nuclear-weapons site in Colorado is cleaned up and closed.

I rise today to recognize the outstanding work done by participants in my Student Congressional Town Meeting held this summer.

I rise in support of the National History Day program.

I hope we do not just refuse to move any nomination at this point.

It is important. We have this board in place. It is bipartisan, and I am glad we have gotten it cleared.

I appreciate that we were able to get these cleared.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to introduce legislation to permanently prohibit 'per minute,' or time sensitive, access charges on Internet telephone calls.

I am pleased that the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and Church Plans, with the assistance of federal regulators, have been able to reach a compromise on this matter.

Mr. Speaker, today I would like to salute the citizens of Vermont who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Green Up Day.

This is not a tax cut; this is a tax correction.

I cannot believe how much more I am paying since I got married.

We are strongly committed on this side of the aisle to building on tried and tested programs that are indicating enhanced achievement for the children of this country.

We should act again--this time in earnest--to protect our children and our schools from gun violence.

We believe, with the scarce resources available, we ought to invest in a guaranteed program with guaranteed results of having the smaller class sizes.

The fight to ban soft money is a fight to regain the public's trust, and Mr. President, there's no fight in our democracy today more worthwhile than that.

I wish wealthy interests with business before this body didn't have unlimited ability to give money to our political parties through the soft money loophole, but they do.

Mr. President, today I applaud Tufts University for furthering the values of leadership, citizenship, and public service.
