I hope that in honor of Mr. Pinkston and his many accomplishments in Georgia, local, State, and Federal legislators working on this project will name a portion of the Fall Line Freeway the Frank Pinkston Freeway.

The assistance provided in this emergency appropriations bill will be critical in helping my fellow North Carolinians return to at least a semblance of the lives they led before last September's devastating floods.

Title III, however, addresses the true emergency needs of many in this country, and in North Carolina particularly.

Had I been present I would have, albeit reluctantly, voted in favor of the bill.

Methamphetamine is a national problem. It is a State problem, but it is more a community solution.

If you talk to your kids, the chances your kids will take drugs is 50 percent less than if you don't talk to them about drugs.
