Privacy is a bedrock principle of the doctor-patient relationship.

In addition to the FDCPA, let's talk about privacy laws. Based on the evidence we've heard today, do you believe our Federal health policy, privacy policy, that those laws should be strengthened to protect patients' privacy?

Many hospitals are operating on smaller and smaller margins, and they need help to survive financially so they can serve their communities.

I think that's the case. Hospitals are in a crunch and they have to be able to collect debt, and I think everyone agrees with that.

But there is a conflict of interest that does arise clearly when hospitals perform in more illusory than real ways with regard to providing charitable care.

We also promote, advocate and strive to protect the health, safety and right of the patients.

We have a health care system that is among the most expensive per patient in the world.

I visited many hospitals across Minnesota, and as far as I'm concerned, we deliver some of the best health care, if not the best health care, in this country.

I think that should be the norm. This is Minnesota. People in Minnesota are good at their jobs, and we are nothing if not nice.

Historically, the reason why, in fact, we allowed hospitals and other organizations to have a charitable status is because we had sick people.

By enacting Section 8123 exempting procurement of prosthetic limbs from other laws, VA would have the ability to provide veterans with services and prosthetic devices needed to obtain a lifestyle similar to the one they lived pre-injury.

Perhaps @BarackObama's biggest shortcoming as President is he failed to unite the country.

So @ReutersPolitics claims that @MittRomney's birth certificate evokes 'controversy' http://t.co/OMpv8F10 Where (cont) http://t.co/b85y89lz

The @MittRomney fundraiser last night was a tremendous success.

Scary--America would have had to pay all its GDP to the government to cover @BarackObama's real 2011 budget deficit http://t.co/loar8BD6

Now Chinese agents are smuggling our military weapons through rogue US soldiers http://t.co/kr5OVY5Q China loves to cheat!

We recommend that the Department of Justice give serious consideration to a departmentwide default open file policy.
