Do you believe that we should go forward with a nuclear renaissance? Do you believe that nuclear energy is something that we should increase in this Country in terms of baseload generation?

I think the only thing that the industry is concerned about is the issue of loan guarantees that would be necessary to go forward.

One of the things that we try to concentrate on during the last number of years is human capital.

I think it is real important that people understand that we are pretty sincere about what we are doing.

I would be remiss if I didn't say a few words on the Davis-Besse incident, because that facility is located in the State of Ohio.

We are trying to launch the nuclear renaissance in this country.

I have to tell you that Senator Carper and I have worked very, very hard to create an environment there where they can replace their people.

they now look at safety culture as part of their reactor oversight process, which they didn't before.

I still think, and it is a complaint I have, is that you are not doing a good enough job getting information out there in the country.

I think it is important for everyone to understand that not only has this Committee, Subcommittee, had 20 hearings in 8 years.

Nuclear power is not to be feared, but to be respected.

I guess one thing we have had under the Chairman's leadership, we have had a lot of folk come by on this issue of too big to fail.

But I am hearing from the banks right now they are more concerned about that than they were a year ago.

My main concern with modernization at this point in time is the impact, if handled improperly, on community banks and credit unions.

We look at size, we look at complexity. Another approach which I have been thinking about for some time...

I want to continue a little bit on the line of my colleague from Nebraska on the 'too big to fail' component.

I wish it was that simple. Perhaps it is, but I would love to hear that thorough debate...
