For 20 years, I have seen politicians over-promise and underfund, and as I do so, it is the patient that suffers.

My hope is that this morning's hearing is the next step in discussing the need for reform so that we can come together in finalizing policies that improve care for our most vulnerable citizens.

I believe that more can be done to protect personal information.

One of the valuable things that retrospective review could accomplish would be to identify rules that are having consequences other than those that were intended and might be having costs that are much higher than were anticipated.

I have come to realize that as a United States Senator to listen to the businesses coming in.

It is extremely important, not only to businesses, but, again, any stakeholder, that they are listened to very carefully.

In that legislation, we did pay attention to the need for a more expert cyber workforce.

I think all of government is well intended. But as we continue to throw more and more government at problems, you do reach that point of diminishing returns.

I really want to encourage that, because it is extremely important.
