That’s what these folks try to do, they try to scare you into inaction.

Political violence is never the answer. It divides us.

This is a time that all Americans should come together and feel and mourn what happened. Violence, which affects so many different people, so many different political persuasions, is an affliction of America.

This is what terrorists do. They rape, they murder, they kidnap.

I hope that my colleagues on both sides of the aisle can come together to condemn this cowardly act of political violence, and honor this champion for free speech and truth who inspired so many of his fellow Americans.
