How are K-12 schools involved in the process of applying for and awarding this Federal grant in New Hampshire?

Thank you very much both on the prosecution side of things, but on the prevention side of things for similar attacks to continue.

It is really important.

I spearheaded an effort to create a Federal grant program specifically targeted at improving the cybersecurity of State and local governments.

We have to fix this. We have to get this right.

Got it.

I take to heart the relationship-building part of it when you speak with task forces post terrorist events, for instance.

That's fair.

It really harms us all when an individual entity is breached.

Is it fair to say--I am looking at kind of how we talk about what K-12 schools in New Hampshire, what steps they have taken to date to implement this law.

Many school districts still view publicly disclosing a cyber incident as taboo, which, unfortunately, keeps the growing problem hidden.

I am pleased to be part of that bipartisan group in Congress that pushed to reauthorize the Institute.

In 2018, the New Hampshire legislature passed a law requiring the State Department of Education to establish minimum standards for the privacy and security of student data.

I truly appreciate the discussion today. I thank you all for coming before the Subcommittee to discuss what is clearly a really important topic to a lot of us.

In at least some cases can interrupt student learning time, too.

I want to keep that going.

Only the Federal Government can do that, in my opinion.

We will be respectful of the sacred grounds and the traditions that rebuild the way the people of Maui want to build, not the way others want to build.
