It does take a village to raise a child and to build a future.

Most veterans in civilian life continue devoting their energies to the service of their country and communities.

They represent what is best in the American spirit.

It is our duty to remember what our veterans have done and to uphold our commitments to them and their families.

I believe we've got to keep our streets safe.

I want us to be able to celebrate, laugh about, cherish our diversity, and say, we're bound together by our belief in the values that have made America great, but otherwise we don't discriminate against anybody.

The credit for our own freedom, as well as our continued security, belongs overwhelmingly to the men and women who have served in our Nation's Armed Forces—our veterans.

Your vote will decide whether we strengthen our families by giving our children world-class education.

I believe in Washington, DC, the most underappreciated public servant in the United States Senate is Harry Reid of Nevada.

I urge all Americans to recognize the valor and sacrifice of our veterans through appropriate public ceremonies and private prayers.

This Veterans Day, Americans enjoy the fruits of peace, freedom, and prosperity in a world where too many must still struggle to live their lives free from conflict, violence, and repression.

I want to open the doors of college education to every single American.

We're a better place because we're doing these things together.

That is why I was so upset when hatred of the Federal Government led to the tragedy of Oklahoma City.

We owe them as well a guarantee that we will continue to defend the American ideals for which they have served and sacrificed.

Today we salute their service, honor their sacrifice, thank them for supporting this Nation in every hour of need.
