Former senators
I do not blame Mr. Hague or Mr. Lilly for doing the jobs that this administration gave them. But I do believe that this Administration has abused its authority by delegating authorities that require Senate confirmation in violation of the…
But that authority, which is provided by the Vacancies Reform Act, is narrowly limited and frankly, is being abused.
Meanwhile, these important offices have not been filled by someone confirmed by the Senate. That is a serious problem.
This hearing is long overdue. Each of the three offices the individuals before us today have been nominated to hold have been vacant since the beginning of the President’s second term, a year and a half ago.
People in Hawai‘i and all across the country are struggling just to get by right now.
Why are we spending $1 billion on a ballroom when gas is $4.53 nationally, and $5.64 in Hawai‘i?
This is a priority for one person and one person only.
A billion dollars goes a long way, especially in a state like Hawai‘i.
I’m grateful to Secretary McMahon for working with us to protect this funding and will continue working every day to make sure Hawai‘i gets its fair share of federal dollars.
This is good news for Hawai‘i. This money helps thousands of young kids develop learning skills and gives local families more affordable child care options.
We’re going to continue working to make life more affordable and deliver federal resources to every part of the state.
Mahalo to everyone who joined us today for a productive conversation.
I always appreciate the chance to hear directly from people across Hawai‘i about their priorities and concerns.
It’s time to pass the Kids Off Social Media Act.
Parents are asking for help, and lawmakers should listen.
More and more governments are recognizing that addictive social media platforms are causing real harm to kids.
The UK is the latest example of a country stepping up to protect kids online.
Extreme weather is becoming more frequent and more severe in Hawai‘i and across the country, and it’s taking a huge toll on our infrastructure. Our bill will help ensure that federally-funded infrastructure is built to be more resilient to…
It shouldn't take this long to return Native remains to their communities. Indigenous people have waited long enough. It's time for these museums and universities to stop the delays and finally do the right thing.
These health centers are essential for keeping local families healthy.
It’s not hard to imagine a focused, energetic president who exerts his authority to make people’s lives better, easier, more affordable, more fulfilling.
Last week, after inflation reached the highest level in 3 years, he said, “I love the inflation.” And a few weeks ago, as a war of his own making was ravaging people’s paychecks, he said, “I don’t think about Americans’ financial…
