The fact is, advancing the final appropriations bills and avoiding a government shutdown will require a great deal of hard work and collaboration when Congress resumes session next week.

I think it’s a bad idea.

it’s corruption, plain and simple.

The point is, we need to reduce spending.

I was disappointed more than surprised, because it clearly is an end-run around Congress.

Your job No. 1 is to restore the confidence of the American people and the institution of public health in America.

If Republicans want Democrats to provide votes to fund the Trump administration, they can start by restoring the health care that they ripped away to finance more tax handouts for billionaires.

We know about their 191 consecutive days in combat, from the trenches of France to the banks of the Reine.

However, as we near the funding deadline, Republicans are once again threatening to go-at-it-alone – heading our country towards a shutdown.

Senate Republicans must decide: stand up for the legislative branch or enable Trump’s slide toward authoritarianism.

We need to restore that confidence, and so far, I don’t see where Secretary Kennedy has done that.

I believe there comes a time when everyone should stand up and fight for what’s right, and that’s what I intend to do.

We want to have this based on science.

The reality is that Secretary Kennedy has profited from and built a career on sowing mistrust in vaccines.

I was not pleased at all when Susan Monarez was asked to step down and the vacancies in leadership that we now have at CDC.

You have a solid number of appropriators who are very concerned about the direction that the OMB director has taken with this pocket rescission.

The only way to avoid a shutdown is to work in a bipartisan way, with a bill that can get both Republican and Democratic votes in the Senate.

I hope that the process will continue in a bipartisan way as we move toward the September deadline.
