It's not a benefit to our country. It's not a benefit certainly to the people in the southwest. I mean, it would be devastating to them.

Donald Trump doesn't do hard. Donald Trump doesn't do solutions-based policy. And Donald Trump certainly does not do humane.

I don't like the President's tone when he does those types of mockeries. I think it's not something that the President should be doing.

There's nothing I'm going to do to defend the president in this. I've said it many times and I'll say it, he gets in the way of -- look at the CNN poll that shows that 71 percent of the public think that the economy is on the right track…

You have a much bigger audience over there. You have an opportunity to make your case. Why not make the case?

This is as -- I can't think of a worse undermining at a president, at a time when he's sitting with a foreign leader who has nuclear weapons.

Well, they can be accused of a crime for cooking books and doing things, but they can't be accused of a crime, of violating a campaign finance law, when the only precedent out there at the time was that you're not -- it's not a violation…

Well, I guess the point I was trying to make to Carl is the President doesn't tell the truth about a lot of things fairly consistently.

If you declare emergency, then that's a whole different story.

I think actually, the Democrats being in control gave the president actually more leverage.

Well, at least he has some Democrats because most of them boycotted in the past. So I give them credit for at least showing up for this one.

He is willing to concede to the other team's wishes in order to try to get a deal.

You can't beat the guy up when he says, OK, I will have it your way, Nancy, we'll do exactly what you want, we'll sit down with you, we'll negotiate.

Now she has the opportunity -- she can make a deal. She can come together, she can buck her base and actually find a compromise.

If the idea from Nancy Pelosi and her side is, we're not going to give him anything that gives him any quarter, then we're going to be back shut down or we're going to have an emergency declaration.

I think frankly for good reason, I honestly support the President on this. But, you know, also -- I mean, the President we've seen is not long on empathy. I mean, he just doesn't really connect with people.

The Democrats are playing political hard ball with this President and they think they have an advantage.

I hope the President hears that. I hope Commissioner Gottlieb hears that.

They're not going to make that mistake.
