We can't just keep sending money without getting these reports.

I don't know where the hold up is. CISA has said they are done I think--and it might not even be with you.

There really needs to be a focus on fixing it. I hope we can somehow work together to get that way.

Just this morning, before the hearing, I saw news that Russia is exploring legislation to formalize their ability to transact in crypto.

This is bad for jobs. It is bad for the strength of the dollar. It is bad for our status as a reserve currency.

If I am an issuer and I want to create a stablecoin, I technically don't know if I am going to be answering to a State regulator, a Federal banking regulator, the SEC, or the CFTC.

I would call upon the subcommittee to think deeply about passing some sort of bill about stablecoins.

It is clear that the SEC is rushing forward with its rulemakings without taking into consideration their full aggregate impact.

It just doesn't seem to make sense.

I think we need to do a better job.

Since President Biden has taken office, there has been nearly a 15-fold increase in northern land border encounters.

It is critical now more than ever for Members of Congress to come together with one voice to advocate against President Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas' reckless policies.

Under President Biden's failed leadership, our borders are less secure and our communities are at risk.

I appreciate the gentleman's words and his support of this. I also appreciate the chairwoman's support of this amendment, and I yield back the balance of my time.

Finally, this committee passed landmark pieces of cybersecurity legislation last Congress, and now it is our responsibility to ensure that they are implemented as Congress envisioned.

Ensuring that CISA has the resources and expertise to fulfill its cross-sector and SMRA obligations is essential to building national resilience.

I am concerned that CISA's important work on cybersecurity may have come at the cost of a diminished focus on its obligations related to the physical security of critical infrastructure.

Like Ranking Member Swalwell, I am enthusiastic about CISA's potential, but want to strike the right balance between continuing to grow CISA's authorities and making sure that it can execute the missions and objectives Congress has already…

I sincerely hope that this Congress the Chairman and Ranking Member will continue the strong tradition of seeking common ground to advance critical security policy.

I plan to introduce legislation to clarify the activities of the JCDC to improve on its successes and increase its impact.

I have to say we had a lot of wins on this committee the last 2 years, and I am really looking forward to working with you.

CISA has a direct impact on securing critical infrastructure, Federal agencies, and our way of life.

It is imperative that CISA succeed in its important mission.
