Tomorrow on the House floor we are going to vote on what I think should be called the Bait and Switch Act.
I appreciate your optimism, but forgive me for being somewhat of a pessimist because I have had this same conversation for years now.
On another issue in my district, we have consistently had the worst on-time service for the Saluki Express and the Illini Express Amtrak routes in central, eastern, and southern Illinois.
How important is it that we ensure our local communities and States have the ability to address their specific needs as opposed to a one-size-fits-all Federal approach to safety?

My concern is--and I would like to know from you--where is that data that can be used by our local DOT in the State of Illinois, or elsewhere in the country, or local governments, where is that sourced from?
If somebody is impaired and driving, then they should lose their privileges if they test higher than what the legal limit is.
I have long advocated for the creation of a marijuana impairment detection system.
