I have said this numerous times, mostly to Kansans.

I come from Kansas, and in many ways we may have different points of view than people who come from other places in the country.

But none of that can happen at the U.S. Senate, and today the example is this Committee doesn't function.

If we can't even meet together, if we can't even have the debate, the discussion, ultimately votes taken, majority rules, then we never have the chance to convince each other that we are wrong or we are right.

Maybe after the next election, if we can just get through an election, maybe we can set aside the differences and then come together and govern.

I was welcomed to the Senate by the then-Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Those who claim to be the most caring among--about the poorest among us often are the ones who promote the policies that are the most damaging financially to the poorest among us.

You know the problems, and there ought not be a significant learning curve.

Narrowing the opportunity for veterans to be served by Choice.

The VA then narrows the scope of that legislation, thwarting congressional intent.

The VA is failing not just Congress but veterans that we are elected to serve and try very hard to care for.
