When parents have a choice, I truly believe every kid has a chance, and that's what this hearing is about.

I'm a strong supporter of school choice, but not the school privatization proposed by my Republican colleagues.

We will never turn our backs on the millions of students who attend our nation's public schools, but we also want to ensure parents have the opportunity to choose the best school for their children.

I remain optimistic that this Congress, we will choose students and advance policies to ensure every child receives an excellent education.

We will look for opportunities to advance school choice and continue our work to improve traditional public schools.

I think this is one of the interesting unintended consequences of the ACA, is the ingenuity that it sparked in trying to get around the obstacles.

It was built on lies. If you wanted your plan, you could keep it. If you wanted your doctor, you could keep it; all that nonsense.
