We have huge transmission costs with wind and solar because they are low capacity.

You have to keep a megawatt of reliable, immediately obtainable backup power or the grid will collapse.

Skyrocketing electricity prices. Ms. Rowe, what is that going to do to our grocery bill?

Does that make any sense to you?

You are the watch dog. You are responsible for assuring the integrity of the scientific data that is driving these policy proposals.

This omission is glaring enough, to call for a separate hearing on this subject.

Well, wouldn't that be of prime interest to the Inspector General's office?

One of the concerns that has been expressed here at this hearing and elsewhere, Ms. Kendall, is a complete lack of focus on the principle responsibilities of the Inspector General.

This is absolutely stunning. This is a significant matter. It involves a proposal that has huge environmental, fiscal, and economic impact throughout the entire region.

Now, given the well-documented complaint of political tampering with scientific data made by the official directly responsible for overseeing the scientific integrity of these studies, your statement that there has been a 'complete absence…

We need to look into this. And we need to look into this before any further activity is taken on the Klamath.

Where is the outrage?

I would suggest the gentleman from Massachusetts read his briefings more carefully before he comes to the hearing.

It is absolutely no coincidence that, as the cheapest forms of electricity like coal are being replaced under these lunatic policies with the most expensive forms of electricity, that Americans' electricity rates are skyrocketing.

When executive agencies like yours write laws, execute those laws, and adjudicate those laws, they are short-circuiting all of these checks and balances that protect the freedom of our Nation.

Coal is one of the cheapest forms of electricity that we have available to us, and one of the most abundant resources of our Nation.

Congress and Congress alone has the constitutional authority to legislate.
