For the past 75 years, as has been discussed here in this hearing, the decision was made that the right to form a union belonged to the workers themselves.

I believe that they contributed to the building of the middle class and to ensure the prospect that our children can build even a better life for themselves, and that there--better than their parents.

You don't get to retaliate for people exercising their rights under the law, and yet that is what that legislation would do.

Certainly I have been dedicated to the idea of strengthening the National Labor Relations Act to make sure that, in fact, this decision rested with the workers.

How does that strengthen the National Labor Relations Act? How does outsourcing jobs strengthen the National Relations Act?

We respectfully request that you convene a full Committee hearing post haste with the Inspector General.

I would hope people would support the legislation. I basically say, do it however you want to do it.

I think this is one of the most important hearings we have had on the issue of the cost of college.

I believe we need to build on the new health care law and take further steps to help small businesses, not tear it down.

If you want to help us, it would make more sense to ask the question, 'What can we do to make this credit work for more of our small businesses?'

You have an opportunity to do that with the small business health care tax credit. I hope you will take it.

'Across state lines' is really an invitation to insurance companies to throw quality and value out the window and start selling junk health insurance.

I think we will end up with better quality care. I think we will end up with more diligence by the Head Start providers knowing that this process is in place.

I think your department has done an amazing job in working with patients, with insurance companies, with hospitals, with doctors...

The Affordable Care Act is making a difference.

The Affordable Care Act is already working to put Medicare on stronger financial footing.

And what we saw in some regions of the country, you had people who were billing Medicare off of fraudulently obtained lists and we were paying them within 30 days.

From educating our youngest children at Head Start, to ensuring seniors access to health care through Medicare, the Department of Health and Human Services administers programs that make our nation stronger and healthier.

We never said we could change everything that's wrong with our health care system, or fix things as fast as people would like.

Proper implementation of this historic reform is vitally important.

We think the Affordable Care Act will, in the long-term, lower those health care costs to businesses, families and to our economy.

The billion-dollar insurance industry held American families hostage for too long.

The Affordable Care Act is already making a difference.

Now is not the time to reverse course and go back to the days when the insurance companies were in charge.

I hear it all the time from people who are telling me, 'Why did you wait until 2014?' because they want to go start their own business...
