I think what your testimony highlights to me is that this is one tough job to try to administer in terms of making sure it is being used for the right reasons.

The Social Security Fraud and Error Prevention Act introduced by Mr. Becerra and Ranking Member Doggett would ensure that SSA has the administrative resources it needs.

Working together, we can secure Social Security dollars for those who paid them and earned them.

The Social Security Administration has very effective tools to prevent fraud and errors, and these tools have been proven to work.

I think there are a lot of people who agree with the assessment that ending the civil war in Syria is one of the keys in enabling the United States, as well as Russia and our other partners, some 60-plus, to focus on defeating ISIL.

This whole campaign really is a whole-of-government campaign. Has to be. In today's world, all these pieces need to be connected.

It's time for Russia to focus on the right side of this fight.

It's not as though our country is going to just stand by idly while Iran proceeds with that kind of a program, correct?

There is a shortage of about 7 million affordable rental homes for low-income families.

The goal, frankly, should be to get the kids off these programs. Our success should not be measured by how many are on these programs.

I agree with the fact that we need to have this oversight in this committee. What I don't agree with is how we go about it, so uneven and heavy-handed.

The desire to improve the efficiency in our child nutrition programs is a good one, but must not lead to more hungry or food insecure children.

When we aren't able to give our children the nutrition they need, we fail them.

I think recycling probably should/could play a bigger role in our need for these critical elements.

You are reassuring me that the VA goes after every dime from the private insurance carriers that you can get your hands on.

There is a shortage of medical personnel in the VA, and I note in your testimony, Secretary Gibson, that you are going to be creating some 1,500 new residency positions.

If giving you feedback from my veterans, for example, could help you all do a better job, I would be happy to pass that on.
