I think that was an important change, and I hope that Admiral Moran agrees with that, because we cannot continue to have all these waivers for the readiness of these ships before they deploy.

I think when I met with you, I was very interested in making sure that when we purchase the ships, et cetera, aircraft, that corrosion is one of the factors that we would consider in putting out the contract to begin with.

There is a concern about something called innovative accounting techniques to indicate to us that these 80 percent goals are being met.

Meanwhile, the modernization plans are proceeding. They are being implemented per our Secretary.

If we're not aware of--well, we should be aware--of those aspects of their whole-of-government approach, and we're not doing very much in that regard, then we're behind the eight ball already.

If there is little or no response from the United States, doesn't this--our inaction, or little action--add to the perceived imbalance of power between the United States, vis-a-vis China and Russia?

Frankly, both China and Russia have engaged in provocative acts in the cyber arena.

I'm particularly interested in the focus on a whole-of-government approach, which we know that, particularly, China uses to their advantage.

Will the delays in the SSC program have any effect Marine Corps' ability to conduct amphibious assault operations?

Can you tell what is wrong with the contractor's effort to produce these craft on time?
