The Constitution provides for us, as the Federal branch of the legislature, to make investments in infrastructure.

I look forward to working with the committee in the upcoming months on ways to help finance and expedite the completion of this interstate.

I am requesting that the committee consider allowing future interstates to be eligible for National Highway Freight funding.

We owe it to our constituents, particularly future generations, to make spending decisions with the most accurate information possible.

This year the federal government will spend $300 billion on interest payments on the national debt.

Our nation's outstanding debt is $28 trillion.
