We keep saying we are having a national discussion on health care and the truth is over the last few years we haven't really had a national discussion on health care.

Obamacare, as you may know, has very little to do with actual insurance. It is essentially a giant scheme.

We must prohibit the Government, that is to say all of you, from further interfering in the acquisition by private citizens of their preferred medical care.

Those long wait times that everyone can read about for cancer screenings in Great Britain or Canada, that is scarcity made institutional.

Scarcity doesn't go away under universal coverage or single-payer.

Bad ideas don't get better just because you make them bigger. They get worse.

How important is sound fiscal policy to us continuing to be a strong economy and a premier influence in the world?

Some estimates have said it is costing American families over $250 a month and that, of course, during this time where we are trying to rebuild our economy is very, very challenging.

We are seeing inflation at 40-year highs. Disproportionately, this affects lower middle class families and, you know, what is tragic about this, of course, is that it was predictable.

So we are leading in the world.

On one hand, I am very excited that we are having a hearing on the farm bill.

What typically seems to have happened is that we take $10 out of an industry, and about $9 of that ends up in a bureaucratic regulatory investigator bundle, and about $1 of that might go back to the ag worker.

We led a letter from the Oversight and Reform Committee that I also serve on to the FSA inquiring about the status of reopening and other staffing issues.

I will be happy to work with you on that.

Would you be able to work with our office in seeing what we can do to relieve the burden?

I do find it odd that the same people who have advocated for trillions in wasteful spending over the last year are suddenly fiscal hawks when it comes to this.

The discussion seems a little bit like we are putting the cart before the horse.

So, when you said people should be free to choose, you didn't really mean people should be free to choose?

We are in an unprecedented shift where everything that the American worker is working for has been shifting overseas.

When states like California are passing laws that cover thousands of independent drivers and contractors with red tape, they only add to the problem in our supply chain.

It is important that as we continue to move towards a cleaner air, cleaner water, brighter future, that we do so in a sensible and responsible way, and not one that increases food costs for our families.

It is curious to me that California would present a stranglehold on the U.S. economy in that way.

I think that is kind of a backwards approach to it.
