Eddie Bernice Johnson was a prominent Democratic politician from Texas who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 until 2021. She represented Texas's 30th congressional district, which includes parts of Dallas, and was known for her advocacy on issues such as healthcare, education, and civil rights. Johnson was the first African American woman elected to the U.S. House from Texas, breaking significant barriers in her political career.
