Written statement by Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, Chairwoman, Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, U.S. House of Representatives.

For too long we have failed to prioritize, or even acknowledge, the vast contributions that the Black community and other minority groups have made towards scientific discovery and innovation.

I would just encourage the Secretary and the leadership at DOT to stay focused on ensuring that these funds are getting out to local communities as quickly as possible.

The impacts of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
