Basically, I look at the taxes, the price you pay to keep the government open, and if you are paying more for your government than they are paying for their government, does that not put you at a competitive disadvantage?

My focus here in Congress is on American competitiveness and jobs.

I have seen over and over and over again in my 2 years here in Congress how Government regulation too often, in the name of protecting the public, makes us less competitive and actually does very little to protect the public.

Aviation is certainly a shining light of American manufacturing and one area in which we maintain our leadership role in the world.

I think the process is horribly broken, I think it costs millions of jobs, and I think it affects American competitiveness.

I think that if we are going to have any veto power, it needs to be made very, very objective and clear.
