I think we certainly need some form of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, but I also want to make sure that our interests are protected.

Born on August 4, 1957, Rice has focused on issues such as economic development, job creation, and disaster recovery during his time in office. He has been involved in various legislative efforts to support the interests of his constituents in South Carolina, particularly in the areas of tourism and agriculture.
It is alarming his commentary that we haven't had any hearings on tax reform or on NAFTA. But the only problem with that is, it is just not true.
Both presidential candidates said it was a bad deal. Whether Donald Trump got elected or Hillary Clinton got elected, TPP was going nowhere.
So if your programmer has a heart attack, nobody is going to be able to get their tax refund. Is that what you are saying?
Isn't it more expensive, at some point, to maintain 55-year-old software than it is to just buy new and convert it over?
So you think the trend is good and we are going to start to see decreasing numbers?
It is apparent that it is not a new problem. This is something that has been evolving over 30 years.
Infrastructure investment in the U.S. would also help make it more competitive.
I do think tax reform is a big one, making the incentives that--keeping business and investment outside the U.S. is the wrong incentive.
There are a whole lot of major issues that are facing this country that have been over our heads for a long time, and I believe are holding our economy back: tax reform, healthcare, infrastructure, but none more important to more people…
