I want to follow up on an issue we have talked about: diversity in the Federal Reserve System.

If the rules are removed, Wall Street will almost assuredly be right back to their risky and reckless behavior.

It is a little like telling the highway department to take down 2 feet of guardrails for every foot it puts up.

I have doubts about the Executive order that requires Federal agencies to eliminate two rules--in many cases, two consumer protections--for every new rule.

The ACA did insure 25,000 veterans and 12,000 family members that were not insured prior to the ACA

My fear is that if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, 22 million people lose their coverage.

I do not agree that Medicare is broken the way you say.

I just cannot imagine the morality of telling these people who have worked all their lives... that we would even consider the possibility, as you all did in Congressman Ryan's bill, raising the eligibility age for Medicare.

In December, you said you expected lawmakers to push forward an overhaul of Medicare, and I quote, 'in the first 6 to 8 months of the Trump presidency.'

I want to find out about the Children's Health Insurance Program. You said last week to staff that it has been a remarkably successful program.

I do not want it as your goal, I want you to commit that you will stand firm, as the ACA does, on this provision of canceling care, canceling insurance, because patients are too expensive.

I just know there is an ideological antipathy in this body from its more conservative members who helped the Wall Street banks to help workers like Rita Lewis's husband.

The Central States Teamsters Pension Fund, as Senators Stabenow, Nelson, and McCaskill said, is in distress and at risk of becoming insolvent.

Will you commit to make public a comprehensive plan to address global overcapacity in the steel industry within the first month you are on the job?

I 100-percent support the President-elect's view that we need to look at China overall, from a trade standpoint and an economic standpoint and a security standpoint.

If taxpayers pay for it, our companies and our workers should build it.

I have been pleased the President-elect is committed to helping manufacturers. He wants to buy American, hire American.
