Does it impact resources for our communities?

The desire to scare our immigrant communities out of answering the census is to help and add a political gain to the Trump administration

So, there is a potential political motive as to why somebody would want to undercount certain communities in the census?

Our destiny is not decided for us, but by us.

In every moment when our country needed us to rise, we did. Now it's our turn.

Courage begets courage.

So, this is the first time that the commandant has refused to attend a congressional hearing.

I am surprised to hear that the commandant is issuing policies that he is not able or willing to make time to discuss with Congress.

I think one of the questions and one of the concerns that we have is that it may not just be limited, you know, to one area.

So, clearly, the Coast Guard must take additional steps to ensure that service members who blow the whistle are protected from this kind of retaliation.

Not only is it unacceptable but it has a profoundly detrimental effect on the Coast Guard's ability to carry out its mission.

That, frankly, is completely unacceptable.

Could whistleblower retaliation cause service members to be reluctant to speak out about deficiencies in the Coast Guard?

So, there is a pattern of reporting about race-based cases and there is a separate pattern of reporting of retaliation against whistleblowing. Is that correcting?

So, this is not just in a matter limited to Lieutenant Commander Young-McLear's experience. This seems to be something of a pattern and that there are other examples of retaliation going on in the Coast Guard?

I would like to thank Lieutenant Commander Young-McLear for her service to our Nation and her bravery in speaking out and being here with us today.

His refusal to appear here today casts doubt on how seriously the Coast Guard is taking the disturbing findings of the Inspector General and of this committee.

So, no, you don't believe in a minimum wage.

So, the market has decided that women and people who give birth deserve less time with their children than a dog.

So, the markets decide.

So, the answer is no.
