Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an American politician and activist serving as the U.S. Representative for New York's 14th congressional district since January 3, 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she gained national attention for her progressive policies and advocacy on issues such as climate change, healthcare, and economic inequality. Ocasio-Cortez is known for her grassroots campaigning and her ability to mobilize young voters, making her a prominent figure in the progressive wing of the party.
Make no mistake, I am committed to continuing to working with the Navajo Nation, allottees, and other impacted individuals on the economic challenges of this proposition.

In March of this year, UMWA workers at Warrior Met Coal ended a 2-year strike with no improved contract.
How could the Federal coal program be improved to make sure that mines are quickly and fully reclaimed in the industry?
When these coal companies go bankrupt, they shed their liabilities for health care and pensions.
According to their 2022 annual report, Warrior Met made over $641 million in profit last year.
Not only when these companies go bankrupt do they strip workers of their benefits, workers don't get health care, they don't get pensions.
