Let's be clear. Oil companies brought in $200 billion in profit last year, while high energy prices meant that many families struggled to keep food on the table.

We have an obligation to make our public lands part of the solution to the climate crisis, rather than the problem.

And to put a finer point on it, when there is a requirement for any agency or company to--or any agency to notify Congress, do they contact the chairman of a committee?

I do concur with the Ranking Member as well as several other Members here on this Committee that this is a committee for whistleblowers and for the protection of whistleblowers as well.

Mr. Graves, one of your main concerns that the FAA currently does not have an official process to receive reports of UAP from pilots or others, correct?

I have seen it personally, and I have also seen the notification requirements to Congress abused.

However, we are also seeing today is an effort to find some issue with this prosecution, this existing prosecution, this is a person who has admitted to crime and finding evidence of political interference, a very serious charge.

It is important that criminal investigations be conducted fairly and free from political influence.
