I have a message for corporations and the rich: Pay your fair share.

We can be whatever we have the courage to see.

We have to change our priorities in the United States of America. We have to change our priorities, and we have to make sure that health care, education, housing, all of these things are very, very strong right now.

There is nothing holy about that. Nothing.

It is not up to us to deny medical care. It is up to us to feed the hungry, to clothe the poor, to protect children, and to love all people as ourselves.

I am tired of it. My faith commands me to treat Mr. Minton as holy because he is sacred.

There is nothing holy about rejecting medical care of people, no matter who they are, on the grounds of what their identity is.

I cannot--it is very difficult to sit here and listen to arguments in the long history of this country of using Scripture and weaponizing and abusing Scripture to justify bigotry.

We know that this is happening and that she is failing LGBTQ youth.

I say religious liberty does not extend to firing people based on who they are.

The appointment of one gay person to an important post does not compensate for the systematic discrimination against LGBT people.

LGBT children are very, very vulnerable. The rates of suicide are much higher among this--among young Americans who are LGBTQ.

The government has to be this neutral place, neither favoring or disfavoring any religion.

And if I may, how are all of these efforts that we are seeing today any different from what we fought against in the Civil Rights Movement several decades ago?

You know, I am speechless, right, because, I mean, that is one of the things that we confront when those who are charged with carrying out our voting laws are also running for office and abusing that.

I think that one of the largest threats that we face in our country today is the unmitigated assault on our democracy, and that starts with the assault on particularly African American and black voters in our country.

I would simply like to say that housing is not just an ability to sleep somewhere. It is the ability to be safe, the ability to be healthy.

Justice has no price tag.

There are children that are coughing up blood in their public housing facilities because they are being poisoned by lead and asbestos.

And to be clear, we have never pursued a public policy audacious or bold enough to close or reverse that gap, correct?

This is not a coincidence; housing issues are racial justice issues.

Research has clearly communicated that segregated, concentrated poverty has long-term, devastating effects on the health and welfare of our Nation's children.
